We believe that the best way to educate the young is through hands-on experience! As society becomes more urbanized, farmers’ work is increasingly unseen and unappreciated. We believe that this has contributed to a decline in young people considering a career in the industry, where now the average age of farmers is the 50s and with few young people entering the industry. Moreover, the majority of younger generation have at best a vague idea as to where our food comes and how it reaches our tables.

KRM seeks to address these realities and has developed Rural Heritage Trail incorporating visits to farms and fields surrounding Tal-Qasam during which our farmer members offer a first-hands experience to our young visitors. By creating different programmes to cater to school-children of various ages, our program offers an educational experience during which the children learn about animal husbandry, local production methods, and the surrounding ecosystems and the importance of protecting them.
